Sports Specific Training

This is Billings Premier Youth Strength and Conditioning Program. Each visit focuses on strength, power, speed and footwork followed up with PROPER workouts that will not only build strength but also flexibility in your kids.  No matter what sport your child plays, one thing remains constant…they need to be well balanced in these 10 physical characteristics:

 

Cardiovascular/Respiratory Endurance:  The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.

Stamina: The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.

Strength: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.

Flexibility: the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint

Power: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.

Speed: The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.

Coordination: The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.

Agility: The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.

Balance: The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.

Accuracy: The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity

Our goal for each session is to bring your child that much closer to proficiency in each of these characteristics!

High School Programs

Our High School Programs at Beartooth CrossFit are designed for High School athletes who are in the off-season and/or in season, looking to build a solid foundation and explore their un-tapped potential. Unlike generalized programming in a group program we offer individual training for their specific needs.  Each class is coached by at least one of our coaches who are not only experienced with the methodologies of CrossFit but are also certified personal trainers.  Our classes are 4-5 times a week consisting of two parts, the first being a strength program and the second a conditioning program. Our High School athletes find that after a few months of attending class regularly they have increased strength, speed and coordination. Athletes will set monthly goals based around S.M.A.R.T. principles (specific, measureable, attainable, relevant, time bound).  We pride ourselves on teaching safe movement and require our athletes to show proper technique before adding intensity.  To get your child started please e-mail us at beartoothcrossfit@gmail.com.

Middle School Programs

The Beartooth CrossFit Middle School program is designed to develop the body awareness and physical capabilities of young athletes. We structure our program to incorporate basic bodyweight movements, conditioning, and basic strength development using functional weightlifting exercises. We incorporate workouts as well as some sport specific group workouts that not only encourage social interactions and a fun environment. We touch on basic nutritional recommendations but focus most of our time on the their fitness. Our Middle School Program is a great way to help prepare youth for the rigorous training of team sports. We also take into consideration that many of our athletes do play other sports. Our programming will push them physically and mentally, but will not break them down. Our class is safe and effective for young adults of all levels and fitness backgrounds.  Our Middle School Program is offered 2-3 times a week.
