First and foremost, I want to thank everyone and tell you that each and every one of you has had an impact on my life that I am forever grateful for. Never in a million years would I have dreamt that I would be part of such an amazing, inspirational, strong “family”. Before starting at Beartooth I had gone through some rough patches in life. I was extremely far from any sort of healthy lifestyle. I basically hit rock bottom and knew I could do better, knew I needed to change. I made the decision to start going to the gym a few days a week after work. The rest is history and I never looked back. Going to the gym was great and helped me develop a brand new life and form the routine of working out, being healthy, and feeling good. After a while though, I needed something different. Nothing against gyms, but one can only take endless mirrors, everyone with headphones on instead of talking and encouraging each other, and far too overly tanned meatheads for so long. Living in California for a few years I heard a lot about CrossFit and had a few friends who were CrossFitters. I was always so interested in trying it out but was shy and somewhat intimidated. Then back in Billings I saw a friend tagged in a BTCF picture so I asked her about going sometime. The first Saturday I went felt like I was a little kid going to my first day of school! But everyone at Beartooth was so welcoming, supportive, and encouraging. I knew I wanted to be a part of the amazing community. I have met such wonderful people at Beartooth and look forward to getting to know many of you more. Thank you Dru, Mack, and Dayne for such a positive environment to come to everyday and for being the best coaches around! I am continually learning and growing thanks to you guys. Thank you BTCF’ers for encouraging me through workouts, pushing me to work harder, inspiring me by how hard you all work, and helping me learn to believe in myself. Beartooth has helped me gain confidence, helped prove to myself that I CAN do it, and made me stronger physically, emotionally, and mentally. It is such a great feeling to be able to accomplish something you struggled with the last time you tried (still waiting for that feeling with double unders). It is an honor to be Athlete of the Month and to represent Beartooth. I honestly cannot say thank you enough. Keep up the great work everyone!!!
As requested, of the girl workouts that I’ve done Fran is my favorite and Angie is my least favorite!
“Your biggest challenge isn’t someone else. It’s the ache in your lungs, the burning in your legs and the voice inside you that yells “I CAN’T!” But you do not listen. You just push harder. Then you hear that voice fade away and start to whisper “I can”. That’s the moment you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.”
