My adventure with CrossFit has become something I would consider a true passion in my life. I started in December of 2013 when I moved to Montana for a job assignment. When I made the decision to relocate, I was very nervous; I knew not a single soul in Montana (or anywhere nearby). During a conference call to discuss my transition, Steve Everett asked me about my interests. Through the dialogue, we brought up fitness, and he asked if I had ever tried CrossFit (whatever that meant). I had heard of it, and figured I should at least give it an opportunity before writing it off as “not for me.” I remember walking into the box, which at the time was about a third of the size it is now due to the construction taking place. My thought: “Wow, these people are crazy (and passionate).” It was infectious, and my life has been different ever since.
I have made some amazing friends at Beartooth CrossFit. The community it generates among its members is second to none, as is the motivation it invokes. I look forward to it every day, I think about it at work, I miss it when I am traveling, and I am frustrated when I am unable to be there. I am so thankful for the relationships I have cultivated there.
I think my favorite movement would be deadlifts, and my favorite WOD would be Angie (who doesn’t love puffy arms right?).
The last thing I would like to add is a “thank you” to the members and coaches for pushing me, helping me, and cultivating the community that I enjoy so much. I am proud of all of you, and proud to call BTCF home.
